Hola Mohalla

Hola Mohalla is an annual Sikh festival that takes place around the time of the Hindu festival of Holi. It marks the establishment of the Khalsa Panth - the martial wing of the Sikh people, by Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru in 1699. It takes place in Anandpur Sahib, around the Gurudwara where he formed the Khalsa, called Keshgarh Sahib. Pilgrims come from all over to pay respect during this time.
Here, Gurcharn Singh Chehel (his Gotra) from Tarna Dal (Baba Baldev Singh Bal) was dyeing his clothes blue in a bucket of steaming dye, on a very chilly morning.
He is a nihang, and was very proud of this. He wore his white khalsa t-shirt to show me, then took it off and threw it in the bucket to dye it blue.
